Best steak I've had in years! I'd almost given up on ordering steak at a restaurant because more often than not, I felt I would've been better off cooking for myself at home. The Snaffle Bit has redeemed my faith! My wife & I dropped in for dinner on a Friday night with no reservation and we got right in. We were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary on an impromptu trip from Bend through the Painted Hills to Prairie City. Our host and server were very friendly and fun to talk to. My wife ordered a Pendleton, neat, and they were very generous with the pour (about a triple, I'd say). We ordered and split an Oscar tenderloin with shrimp, button mushrooms, asparagus, blue cheese, cheddar garlic mash potatoes, and garlic bread. Every bite from every selection on the plate was decadent and heavenly. The steak was cooked perfectly (mid rare, as requested), and the blue cheese was velvety and smooth. The garlic mashed potatoes were heavy on the garlic, just the way I like it, and they weren't sticky or overly fluffy. We were really impressed with the food and give our compliments to the chef. Being from Bend we have plenty of good restaurants to choose from and could be considered "foodies." The food at the Snaffle Bit IS GOOD. REALLY GOOD. The service was very good and we loved the rustic, farmhouse atmosphere. We will be back! Thank you for making our anniversary that much more special!
